Just bought this and can't wait to get started. Patrick has been an invaluable guide during my own spiritual stumblings. He also baptized both of our kids, which means he's special forever. If you like honest spiritual struggle and joy, you'll love his approach.

love thursday

chorizo.jpg

Steve: I'm leaving to get breakfast tacos. Charlie, would you like a taco?
Charlie: No. I full.
Steve: You sure?
Charlie: NO TACO!

Steve returns from taco joint.

Charlie: Yummy. You get Charlie cho-wee-zo and egg?
Steve: No, Charlie. You told daddy that you weren't hungry.
Charlie: That's OK. I eat dada's taco. Up. Up. UP!

Hi Brene,
I found you through Shutter sisters and have been enjoying reading through some of your archives. Hope you won't mind me commenting that this is one adorable picture. I don't know if the story or the expression you captured on his face is cuter! I'm not a mom but I know precious when I see it.
Thanks for sharing.

At the restaurant...

"What do you want to eat?"

"Chicken nuggets."

"Are you sure, you can have something else if you want."

"CHICKEN NUGGETS!"

"Okay"

Dinner arrives....

"Ceaser salad? Can I have some? Can I have some more? Oooh - that looks good, can I have a bite? Yum, another bite?"

Guess it's a nice diet plan and I'm glad they are not picky - but I KNOW the feeling. Hope Steve didn't leave hungry!

LOL. Great story! As a wife, I also reserve the right to eat some morsels from my husband's plate. I guess some of us never grow out of it. =)

That's my definition of true love. Letting someone you adore eat your food. Even if you're hungry. Or starving. Even if that food smells DELICIOUS.

I do it all the time and never get bitter about it.

Plus, it helps me with my portion controls. : )
