a special edition parenting manifesto from kelly rae roberts

Meet my good friend Kelly Rae Roberts.

Kelly Rae is an artist, writer, believer in magic, and a mother to a beautiful boy named True. Her husband John also happens to be one of my favorite people. I asked Kelly Rae if she would create a special edition of the Wholehearted Parenting Manifesto from Daring Greatly and she did!

The 18X24 poster is $20 and the proceeds go to our charity: water campaign. It looks beautiful framed!

UPDATE 12/12: You asked and we made it happen. We've added a 9x12 for $18.

UPDATE 12/13: WE ARE SOLD OUT OF BOTH PRINTS. We will fill all existing orders. We will have more prints and posters after the first of the year. Thank y'all so much. We're going to meet our charity: water goals for 2013!

For the holidays, orders received on or before 12/16 at midnight will ship out on 12/17. Orders received after 12/16 will ship on January 2, 2013.

This is my favorite picture of me and Kelly Rae. I think it says it all.

Read more about Kelly Rae here and don't forget to check out her amazing art!

Beautiful... I too would love to purchase a smaller one. Can you make these available in 8x10?

Hi Michelle,

We may do smaller versions in 2013. This is the only one from Kelly Rae that we have right now. We have free downloadable 8X10s here: http://www.brenebrown.com/downloads-badges

Do you ship to the United Kingdom? I wasn't able to figure it out with the paypal setup!

I love these posters, and the idea of bringing all your brilliant material out of your books and into a format that people can stick up on their walls, or refrigerators, or where ever they can see it frequently.

This is so inspiring. I will translate it into French and post it in my house for sure, with your reference of course!

Love Kelly Rae's art, love your words.......perfect combination. This manifesto makes me cry everytime I read it. It says exactly what I want for my "little girls" who are now 20 and 24. Thank you!

How absolutely beautiful! I've been waiting and watching, but didn't make it in time to order.

This is beautiful. I'd love to buy one to frame once the next run is printed. Is there a way to be (maybe by email or something) notified when that happens? I don't want to miss out like I did this time.

I am a single mom of a 2 year old (marriage ended when she was 10 weeks with husband's infidelity and declaration that he wanted a different life). I am dating again and faced with the constant challenge of worthiness. Today I raised my hand up and told the person I am dating I need more. It was scary. And I realize things could end. And my head is reeling because of it. I went back and referenced the Wholehearted Parenting Manifesto and this was my reflection:
ere are some points from the manifesto:
- Above all else, I want you to know that you are loved and lovable. You will learn this from my words and actions--the lessons on love are in how I treat you and how I treat myself.
- I want you to engage with the world from a place of worthiness. You will learn that you are worthy of love, belonging, and joy every time you see me practice self-compassion and embrace my own imperfections.
- You will learn accountability and respect by watching me make mistakes and make amends, and by watching how I ask for what I need and talk about how I feel.
- As you begin your Wholehearted journey, the greatest gift that I can give to you is to live and love with my whole heart and to dare greatly.

To these points, I am doing the right thing. Would I want Grace to settle for less than she needs? Would I tell her she is unreasonable for wanting a relationship in her life that isn’t 50% good and 50% work, but instead 90% good and 10% work? Would I tell her she is not worthy of love because her imperfections are too much? It is heart-breaking to write these questions because the obvious answer is no. So why then, would I live in such a way that Grace learn from my less-than actions?

It’s time to break my family’s tradition of unworthiness and write a new story (literally, that’s what I’ve been doing on my blog as each lesson is learned)
