to kindle a light

My One Little Word for 2012 is light. Every month I'm sharing one of my favorite quotes about light.

This quote from Jung is inspiring me right now!

Thanks to Elan from Ninjamatics who designed these graphics.

I love this quote - very similar to one of my favorites from a Mary Oliver poem. Keeping this in mind every day gives me the courage to do some really cool things this go around!

Thanks for sharing. Love the graphics too!

Oooh, I want that image as a big poster in my office. Does your artist offer posters?

Ah, thanks for the reminder. Time to reflect on my word...courageous. I think I've lost touch a bit. This is very timely!

wonderful way to celebrate Light. And, to Christine, it reminds me of my favorite Mary Oliver quote too! Thought I'd share it here:

But I also say this: that light
is an invitation
to happiness,
and that happiness,

when it’s done right,
is a kind of holiness,
palpable and redemptive.

"Poppies" in Blue Iris by Mary Oliver.

Thanks Brené for sharing your light with the world.

Here are my fav quotes about light to share with you all:
"Better to light a candle than curse the darkness" - Chinese Proverb.

"We cannot hold a torch of light to another´s path without brightening our own" - Ben Sweetland.

"What is to give light must endure burning" - Viktor Frankl.

Love and light to you all!!!

I love this quote, too, Brene and just pinned it to Pinterest the other day from your site! LIGHT quotes are all around me right now...each day a new one shows itself...

I posted this one today:
"Faith is the bird that feels the Light when the dawn is still dark." ~ Rabindranath Tagore

And this one a couple days ago:
"I will love the light, for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars." ~ Og Mandino

Thank you for being such a courageous heart light in this world. Keep shining! :)

Hi Brene`,
You light the fire by your Passion and beautiful energy. The LIGHT just shines in no matter what.
So, as you ignite, it ignites me to continue when I want to stop. To move through the difficulties, with lightheartedness and humor. What a wonderful spark the humor fires up a great reminder not to take ourselves too seriously. You do a superb job with that. I am glad to hear that you are an expert (or were) in catastrophizing...I used to create the most horrible newspaper headlines. Now I just make gratitude lists and I am out of there so fast.

I love how you relate to "us". You are slogging right in the middle of it with all of us and it makes me feel taller inside. Gratitude grows in that light and I am full, now I can smile and pass it on.
Thanks,
Helen

Every morning at the end of my short yoga practice, I sit crosslegged, with my hands in namaste, and say to myself, "bow to the light within." Visualizing this light, finding it and feeling it, is among the greatest benefits of my practice. And it isn't always easy!

I have only recently found your site and I love everything about it!! I am transitioning from a career in ICU nursing to life coaching.. As I am making this change, I feel like my LIGHT is on fire!! I keep hearing the sunday school song "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine" in my head. I feel like I am finding a bigger and broader path to let my beatiful and love filled little light to shine :)

All my love, Stacy

Thank you so much! You are a light in my life! Your books and teachings are opening and tenderizing my heart.
My daughter wrote this about a year ago, when she was going through a difficult time in her own life:

"May the Light that you inspire in others shine from their eyes so that you may drink from your own reflection"

It seems she knew the way on her own healing journey.
