daring greatly read-along #7

Thank you again for the great questions!

Here are some links that you might find helpful to go along with the podcast:

Blog post on leadership for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Blog "Inpatient Optimists."

An interview on Good Work with Michael Bungay Stanier

An interview about shame and work on Real Recognition Radio.

The boundary ring!

Here is the iTunes link if you want to subscribe to the podcast. We realize that the last two have not posted on iTunes. According to SquareSpace (my provider), it's an issue on the Apple side. We're working on it. I apologize for the hassle - it's making me crazy too.

celebrating my birthday with charity:water

Sunday is my birthday! I'll be 47 which is really strange because my in my head, my parents are perpetually 40.

I'm celebrating the big day "charity: water" style. For my birthday, I'm asking my friends and family to donate to our Daring Greatly charity: water campaign. So, if you'd like to help us raise $15,000 to fund a tap for 230 people in Rwanda, we'd love your contribution!

Thank you for being a part of our wholehearted community. I'm so grateful.

daring greatly read-along # 6 (and giveaway)

First, I want to thank the men and women who serve our country. I'm grateful for your courage. To your children and your parents and your partners - I recognize your sacrifice and my family keeps you in our prayers. Thank you.

On pages 152-157 of Daring Greatly, I share what veterans have taught me about courage and vulnerability. Their lessons helped me realize how much I can do and why my politics and my beliefs about war shouldn't stop me from reaching out with compassion and connection.

I also talk about the critically important work being done by Team Red, White and Blue (TRWB) to help vets build and reestablish connection in their communities.

If we truly want a more compassionate world, we must dare greatly and take actions that communicate to veterans or military families that they are not alone. Actions that communicate, "Your struggle is my struggle. Your trauma is my trauma. Your healing is my healing."

Below is the audio for Chapter 5. I had so much fun reading your comments from the giveaway last week that I think we should do it again! This time I'm giving away three Daring Greatly t-shirts! Just leave a comment telling us one thing from your "joy list." I'll pick three winners at the end of the week. I always post winners at the bottom of the giveaway.

The e-mail address to send questions for the chapters 6&7 is daringgreatlyquestions(at)gmail(dot)com

Here is the iTunes link if you want to subscribe to the podcast. It normally takes a couple of hours for the podcast to upload to iTunes so it might be this evening. If you're reading via email, click here to listen to the podcast

I'll leave with this great postcard created by Allison de Ford at Felt Design Group. Calm is really helpful when you're walking into the arena. Not always possible, but helpful.
